What we collect

CalShot is designed to collect as little data as possible. When you use the scan feature, your photo is sent to our AI provider for analysis and immediately discarded. We do not store your photos on our servers.

Usage data

We use Vercel Analytics to collect anonymous usage data (page views, device type, country). This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the service.

Rate limiting

To enforce the free tier limit (3 scans per day), we temporarily store a hash of your IP address in server memory. This data is not persisted to disk and is cleared regularly.

Third-party services

Photos are processed via OpenRouter (our AI API provider). Their privacy policy applies to the processing of image data. We do not share any other data with third parties.

Cookies

CalShot uses localStorage (not cookies) to track your daily scan count on the client side. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

Your rights

Since we don't store personal data, there's nothing to delete or export. If you have questions about your data, contact us at privacy@calshot.app.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. For significant changes (like starting to collect personal data), we'll notify users on the homepage.
